My main research consisted of looking, analyzing and pulling apart films that were either Film Noir or notable for outstanding editing. This made me look at a few films that were nominated for or won the Academy Award for Best Film Editing. The main ones that I looked at were Slumdog Millionaire and Whiplash, since these were fairly recent feature films and both won the award, in 2008 and 2014 respectively. As well as looking at films that had excessively good editing, since I was creating a Film Noir style film, it would only be logical for me to research popular Film Noir films. After looking at various ones through websites such as IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes, I made a list of a few films that I would research into further detail, these being: White Heat, Double Indemnity, Rebecca and Sin City.
